On the first day under the influence of a cold front, Fansipan Peak was blanketed in ice, while temperatures in Hanoi dropped to 16\u00b0C. Since last night (December 24), the summit of Fansipan in Sa Pa, standing at 3,143 meters, has witnessed icy conditions as temperatures fell to between 1\u20133\u00b0C. By this morning, thick layers of frost covered pathways, stone surfaces, and the flagpole area. This marks the heaviest ice formation since the beginning of the 2025\u20132026 winter season.<\/p>\n

Visitors were delighted to experience the frosty landscape on December 25, shaping the soft ice into snow-like balls. By 7 a.m., the sky cleared, and sunlight gradually melted the frozen layer. Northern Vietnam is currently affected by a moderate cold spell. M\u1eabu S\u01a1n (L\u1ea1ng S\u01a1n) recorded the lowest temperature at 5\u00b0C, a drop of 5 degrees compared to yesterday.<\/p>\n

Other highland areas such as S\u00ecn H\u1ed3 (Lai Ch\u00e2u), \u0110\u1ed3ng V\u0103n (Tuy\u00ean Quang), and Tam \u0110\u1ea3o (Ph\u00fa Th\u1ecd) reported temperatures between 7\u20139\u00b0C. In Hanoi, temperatures fell by 4\u20135 degrees compared to the previous day, with stations in Ho\u00e0i \u0110\u1ee9c, H\u00e0 \u0110\u00f4ng, S\u01a1n T\u00e2y, and L\u00e1ng showing 17\u00b0C, while Ba V\u00ec reached 16\u00b0C. According to forecasts from AccuWeather, today marks the coldest day of this spell in Hanoi, with temperatures ranging from 14\u201319\u00b0C. From tomorrow, daytime highs are expected to rise to 21\u201322\u00b0C. In higher elevations above 1,500 meters, such as Sa Pa, lows of 6\u201311\u00b0C are expected, warming slightly to 8\u201315\u00b0C by the weekend.<\/p>\n
